Welcome to Diamond City, Arkansas. On a bank high above the White River at the site of Dubuque, a mid-nineteenth century town, stands Diamond City. Dubuque, until its demise after the Civil War, was the last stop on the White River for northbound steamboats. Welcome to Lead Hill, Arkansas. Lead Hill, in Boone County, Arkansas, has a mining heritage which dates back to the early 1900s. The old mining town was buried under the waters of Bull shoals Lake when the lake was created in the early 1950s. At that time, residents moved to the new Lead Hill, located on higher ground. The Foreign Exchange Experience at Lead Hill HIgh School. Lead Hill High School is hosting 20 students from all over the world this year. These young people are taking a semester or a full school year to experience the United States, learn the language, play with friends and find out what makes Lead Hill, Arkansas and the USA unique. They are living with Lead Hill families.
